SPL Meet Me 2

Mosaic workshop & art exhibition, Imperial College, South Kensington

May 2004 till present
I have been commissioned to devise and teach a number of different art centred workshops, especially for children, including learning keyskills of mosaicing; working with Arabic calligraphy; papermaking, and collage amongst others.

June 2000- June 2001  
St. Dunstan’s Resource Centre, Shandy Street, Stepney Green, E1
I initiated, devised and taught a regeneration project for children as part
of the New Deal for Communities on the Ocean Estate, Stepney Green.
The Children’s Community Project was designed to use art and creativity
as a means of empowering a sense of self respect and pride in ones environment because we incorporated dialogue regarding social issues afflicting the children and their futures into the various projects.

1996-2001  
I participated in organising and/or selling artwork at various art festivals and community events, including through Alternative Arts at Spitalfields Market E1. I was also involved in designing and making handbags, cushion covers and customising Bedouin jewellery.
